Domain Name Speculation
If you think speculation is a get-rich-quick scheme then you are very wrong. More often than not, it takes many months before the domain that you speculated is traded.
As with all types of speculation, you go find something that you think is worthy while others did not see it or prefer to ignore. And you hope this domain name becomes valuable and desirable so that others will pay a high price for it.
In a nutshell, domain name speculation is simply the purchasing of domain names with the sole intention of selling them at a profit.
Most people believe that all valuable .COM domains had been registered. However, there is always new trend and phenomenon that will create new words or phrases that people never imagine before. So there is always a small change that you will land on a valuable domain name if you look wide and deep enough.
Beside for brand names and common words, a domain name may be valued for the traffic it attracts. This is true for expired domain names. And this is an area that may be more profitable than looking for new names.
